STEPPING STONES LEGALPRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: April 2026 · Stepping Stones · Rev. Lizzie Ward · Church Farm, Cotterstock, Northamptonshire
Your privacy matters to me as much as your wellbeing. The information you share with me — whether through this website, by email, or in the course of our work together — is held with the same care and discretion I bring to everything I do.
WHO I AM
This website is operated by Rev. Lizzie Ward, trading as Stepping Stones, based at Church Farm, Cotterstock, Peterborough, PE8 5HD, United Kingdom.
I am the sole data controller for the personal information collected through this website and through the course of my practice. I process your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you have any questions about how I handle your information, please contact me directly at steppingstones.life@gmail.com
WHAT INFORMATION I COLLECT
I collect only what I need, and only with your knowledge. This includes:
Contact information — your name and email address when you complete a contact form, book a threshold conversation, or subscribe to my mailing list
Booking information — your name, contact details, and any health information relevant to reflexology sessions, collected via Acuity Scheduling
Payment information — processed securely through third-party providers (Stripe or PayPal). I do not store your card details
Session notes — brief, anonymised notes made after reflexology or accompaniment sessions, held securely and never shared
Website usage data — anonymous analytics collected by Squarespace, including pages visited and time on site. This does not identify you personally
Email correspondence — any emails you send me are held in my secure email account and used only to respond to your enquiry
WHY I HOLD YOUR INFORMATION
I use the information you share with me for the following purposes:
To respond to your enquiries and arrange threshold conversations or sessions
To deliver the services you have booked — reflexology, spiritual accompaniment, pilgrimage, or grief space
To send you information about Stepping Stones offerings, if you have subscribed to my mailing list
To fulfil my legal and professional obligations as a clinical reflexologist and interfaith minister
To improve this website and ensure it serves you well
I will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. That is not who I am or how I work.
SENSITIVE INFORMATION
Some of the work I do — particularly reflexology and spiritual accompaniment — may involve you sharing sensitive personal information, including health details, emotional experiences, and aspects of your inner life. This information is treated with the highest level of care and confidentiality. It is held securely, used only in the context of our work together, and never shared without your explicit consent — except in the rare circumstances where I am legally required to do so.
If you participate in the Grief Space or a virtual pilgrimage, group sessions may involve sharing in a community context. Participants are asked to honour confidentiality within the group. I ask the same of myself.
HOW LONG I KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
Reflexology client records — retained for seven years after our last session, in line with professional guidelines
Enquiry and correspondence — retained for two years, or until you ask me to delete them
Mailing list — retained until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time
Payment records — retained for six years for tax and legal purposes
THIRD PARTIES I WORK WITH
I use a small number of trusted third-party services to run Stepping Stones. Each processes your data only as necessary for the service they provide:
Squarespace — this website is hosted on Squarespace, which collects anonymous usage analytics
Acuity Scheduling — used to manage session bookings. Your booking information is held securely within Acuity
Mailchimp or equivalent — used to send the Stepping Stones mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email
Zoom — used for online sessions, pilgrimages, and the Thursday Circle. Zoom's own privacy policy applies to sessions held on their platform
Stripe or PayPal — used for secure payment processing. I do not store card details
COOKIES
This website uses cookies — small files placed on your device — to help it function and to understand how it is being used. Squarespace manages these cookies on my behalf.
When you first visit this site, you will be asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site. Declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use any part of this website.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal information I hold about you
Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete
Request deletion of your personal information, where I am not legally required to retain it
Object to how I use your information, including for marketing
Withdraw consent at any time where I rely on your consent to process your data
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe I have not handled your data correctly
To exercise any of these rights, please contact me at steppingstones.life@gmail.com — I will respond within 30 days.
A PERSONAL NOTE
I am a one-person practice. Everything on this page is something I take seriously — not because the law requires it, but because trust is the foundation of everything I offer. If you ever have a question about how I hold your information, please just ask. I would rather have that conversation, than have you wonder.
